    New Week, New Cravings

    Jewelry with an Edge

In New York City, where style walks down the street in packs, inspiration is never-ending. It comes in all shapes, sizes and degrees, and anything and everything can be made fashionable with the right gusto. So, it’s no wonder that every time I walk out my door, I return home with a wishlist as long as my arm! Especially now that New York Fashion Week has recently ended, sartorial desires are at an all-time high (I once heard September was the New Year of Fashion world after all…).

This week, my focus has been on accessories– especially on pieces that are truly unique and tell a story of their own like this Vertebrae Drop Necklace. A bit eerie, yes, but what a conversation starter! And that’s just the beginning…

Check out these incredible pieces and tell me– is this not the most perfect way to add an edge to your closet?

    Airport Chic

Effortless Tips for the (Airport) Runway

When traveling back and forth between cities, comfort is the most important factor, but that doesn’t mean that style has to be sacrificed. A girl has to have several tricks up her sleeve to survive long treks across airport terminals and long hours on planes, right? Well, ladies, listen up. Airport chic (yup, those two words can coexist!) is real, and you can create the ultimate travel outfit that is both polished and effortless with three quick tips:

Keep it simple.  Dresses are always fun, but not when you’re struggling through security. To avoid fuss, create a no-fail base look that you can change with some subtle touches. A comfy pair of jeans (or dark leggings), a cool top and a pair of flats? Classic.

Layer up. Depending on your location, and especially if you’re traveling between two different climates, layers are your best friend. Keep a scarf and a jacket for those unexpected temperature changes in your carry-on.

Add some flair. Inject some personality by adding accessories that reflect your personal style to your ensemble, but skip jewelry that is difficult to take on and off during screenings. With a stylish hat (this Dunaway Hat is a personal favorite), a pair of sunglasses and a handy bag (or a chic backpack!), you are set to go.

Do you have a go-to, no-fail travel outfit? Please share below!

    After the Madness

    Our 5 Fashion Week Moments

Seven straight days of clothes, crazy people, coffee, cabs and more are officially finished for one more season. Like when anything comes to an end, it’s time for reflection. Navigating through the endless looks, designers and trend trend overload post Fashion Week frenzy can be daunting. So here are the top five lessons we’ve learned from this seasons marathon.

    1. Gym clothes not for the gym are everywhere – Bust out those sneakers! Nearly everything designer from Alexander Wang to Rebecca Taylor showcased sportswear inspired looks, perfect for not so athletic gals like myself.

    2. Tastefully Transparent – From sheer tops to fully transparent skirts, Spring 2015 is all about sexy translucent pieces. Slip optional.

    3. Bigger is better – This season we saw over-sized everything. Easy breezy loose fitting dresses, coats and tops that leave a trail of flowing fabric behind. Light luxe fabrics are ideal for the warmer months ahead.

    4. Makeup is out – The #Iwokeuplikethis trend is strong as ever, as countless designers including Marc Jacobs showcased barefaces. So start exfoliating and moisturizing your way into Spring 2015.

    5. Gingham,gingham, gingham – The picnic friendly plaid also known as gingham proved itself as a major staple this season. The pattern gives any look a sweetness with a does of edge. Use it in your wardrobe for some pattern play and layering.
