    I’m Bringing Betchy Back

    Halloween Costumes 101

Attention: this is a Halloween costume guide for all you basic betches (myself included). I’m here to tell you exactly how to slay while staying true to your PSL-loving self. Assembled below are a few classic Halloween costumes that when given a couple fashionable twists, pop! The best part? You can find most if not all of the staple items in your closet.

    Pocahontas

It is no secret that fringe is in this Fall. Bring out your inner pocahontas with this season’s hottest trends.

    PCD

For those of you (a.k.a most of us) who own cat ears, Halloween is the prefect time to throw on the LBD you’ve been waiting to wear. Add some faux fur gloves and consider yourself an esteemed member of the once fierce PCD.

    Scream Queen

Not into the cutesy cat costume but still looking for something saucy? Make a bold statement and paint the town red.

    Cheetah-licious

It’s cheetah-licious! Be the firecest feline in the jungle this Halloween.

    Scarlett A (++)

Geek chic? Tests & quizzes won’t be the only thing you will ace this month, can you say A+ for the best dressed?

    A Cinderella Story

It is only proper to meet your prince charming while wearing your most sophisticated-but-still-edgy dress. Oh, and don’t forget the eye mask for that famous midnight smooch!

    Bone-ified Hustla

A black, sleek and comfortable jumpsuit for a night out? You got that right. Grab your face paint and complete the spooky skeleton look.

    Halloween Insta Magic

    Best We've Seen

October 31st! It’s finally here, and Instagram is abuzzin’ with Halloween magic. Before going out and celebrating, take a note of these Halloween-lovers– they’re the best around.

    M.A.C. Cosmetics

What says Halloween in the most musical way? Rocky Horror Picture Show, of course! Paying tribute to this cult classic, M.A.C. recently announced their collection to honor the film’s 40th anniversary on Insta. Celebrate by doing the Time Warp (and treating yourself to a lipstick… or three)!

    L’Oreal Paris USA

L’Oreal Paris teaches us how to be a fierce feline with a smoky eye, purple lips and the darkest mascara fit for the darkest night. Lazy-girl Halloween while still looking amazing? We’re all about it.

    Amber Nail Salon

Cobwebs, blood stains, black cats, pumpkins and ghosts galore. Nails as festive as this spooky holiday? Check.

    The Collecteur

Giulia Scalese is The Collecteur, a photographer who collects chic garments, accessories and props.  An Instagram favorite, she later assembles them into still lifes. We’re monster mashing with happiness over this vibrant Halloween collection.

    Karen Elson

Supermodel Karen Elson can rock any outfit and look amazing, but sometimes it’s best to stick with a classic. Talk about beauty!

    A Beautiful Mess

It’s the year of the feminist (thank you Beyoncé, Emma Watson and Lena Dunham), and Elsie and Emma of A Beautiful Mess are celebrating by featuring a feminist classic, Rosie the Riveter, portrayed by MarinyKoolWe can do it, indeed!

    Warby Parker

And the award for the most spirited company goes to… Warby Parker! We’ve loved seeing what the Warby employees dressed up for this Halloween, but our favorite costume by far was Jared Leto. Someone please hand them a real Academy Award for this winning ensemble…

    Christine H McConnell

We love Halloween as much as we love our cake (a lot). The super talented Christine McConnell dreamed up this eerie and equally delicious dessert for the occasion. Can you say “gimme?”

Happy Halloween darlings! Share your spooky adventures with us in the comments below.

    Be Iconic!

    5 Style Icons for Halloween

Chances are I won’t ever get to play Holly Golightly in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” and I know I definitely won’t be part of the 90s supermodel Trifecta, but there is one thing I get to do every year. On October 31st, Halloween comes around and gives me (and you!) the opportunity to embrace another persona.

On that long-awaited night, I can be Audrey Hepburn. I can leave Parisian audiences in awe like Josephine Baker. I can embrace the spirit of style icons that have shaped fashion history. The best part? Their classic looks are exactly that– classic — and leave me with outfit staples for years to come. See, you can have your cake and eat it, too.

This year, join in on the fun, and give an ode to our favorite style icons.

    Audrey Hepburn

When we think of style icons, the first one that comes to mind is Audrey Hepburn– Those eyebrows! Those eyes! That waist! Ah, to be Audrey! Thankfully, this year, we can be with minimal effort and an equally chic costume. While we love the world-renowned Breakfast at Tiffany’s ensemble, set yourself apart from the pack with another iconic look.

    RSI_AudreyH

For Audrey: Studded leather flats, Floral brocade dress & Wide-brimmed straw sunhat

    Naomi Campbell & Kate Moss

There’s a myth that says supermodels like Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell don’t get out of bed for less than $10,000. That’s why our favorite supermodel BBF’s Naomi and Kate are the definition of fabulous. This Halloween, grab your best friend and recreate this duo with a few staples from the 90s.

    RSI_NaomiAndKate

For Kate: Mohair Blend JacketCropped stretch poplin shirt, Quilted denim mini skirt & Flair suede ankle boots; For Naomi: Checked mini skirt, Checked jacket, Knee socks & Vapor platforms (Platform possibilities are endless: Leather platform boots, Jadis-door platforms, Mulder platforms)

    Josephine Baker

Josephine Bakery dazzled audiences far and wide in the 1920s. Take parties by storm and embody her spirit with your best flapper garb. Don’t be afraid to mix and match, “overdressing” isn’t even a possibility.RSI_JosephineFor Josephine: Flapper dress, Fringed gloves & Hairclip

    Anna Wintour

In an interview with David Letterman, Vogue’s infamous editor-in-chief Anna Wintour once joked, “I read in The New York Times this week that I’m an ice queen, I’m the Sun King, I’m an alien fleeing from District 9 and I’m a dominatrix.” Embody this #GirlBoss with Wintour’s staples. After all, nothing says, “I’m the editor of Vogue” like a pair of black over-sized sunglasses. Extra points if you rock Wintour’s classic bob. RSI_Anna

For Anna: Gold-plated choker, Fur Coat (Another option) & Oversized sunglasses

What style icon will you be emulating this Halloween (or even year-round)? Share in the comments below!
