Hamptons Weekend Style

Summer in New York means weekends spent out east in The Hamptons, lounging by pools and on the sand, escaping the searing hot pavement of the city.  The style is definitely more laid-back than the all-black ensembles of city girls worn Monday-Thursdays in the summer, with colors and florals brought into the rotation and white crochet popping up everywhere I look.

This weekend I chose a casual look for Sunday, pairing Rag & Bone for Intermix ripped denim with a Robert Rodriguez grey crop, Madewell sandals, Randolph sunglasses, and my good old Panama Hat from J. Crew. I like the look of a baggy, menswear inspired pant combined with a sexy crop top.  As always, accessories are everything as my outfits are generally simple and classic.  I love to throw a fun, colorful shoe in to the mix and I’m obsessing over the new sunnies I picked up at Scoop in East Hampton over the weekend.  Thanks for my friend Brian for agreeing to be my male model.  If any ladies need a fantastic dinner date in NYC, he is your guy.

The pieces I’m wearing are shown first below, followed by tons of other options for a similarly fantastic casual summer outfit.

Why I Fast on Mondays

Monday: oh, the duality of it. I love Monday and I also hate it with a deep passion. I hate that it will take a full 5 days for the weekend/nachos to arrive. I hate that I have to answer my emails. I hate that my alarm goes off and wakes me from my Sunday slumber. Yet, once I’m conscious I remember that I love waking up early on a summer Monday, hitting the streets before 8am when the city is still sleepy and heading out for a slow sweat at SLT. I love hitting the re-set button and having another chance to do and be. I also love fasting on Mondays, my chosen day of the week to detox until dinnertime (if you’re forced to begin your week, you may as well dive in head first).
