Winter-Spring Nail Colors to Covet

[infobox subtitle=”Show Your Spring Spirit” bg=”yellow” color=”white” opacity=”off” space=”30″ link=”no link”]Lighten Up![/infobox] Transitioning into spring is not always easy. One minute it’s hot. The next, it’s cold. Apart from struggling with weather appropriate wear, we’ve always found it extra difficult to pick out the right nail polish color. Subconsciously, we know its way too warm (and way past early January) to be wearing Essie’s Wicked, but it’s also way too cold (and only late March) to be wearing the Easter-y pastels.

So, what to do?

We’ve gathered our favorite winter-spring nail color alternatives that every dark-loving-deep-red hogging nail obsessed girl should try out. Seriously though, why not conquer this weather limbo in fashion forward style?

Make Like Metallica And Shine

Metallic Spring Looks

Metallic colors, especially the lighter and more playful tones, hint at spring in subtle way. Paired with just the right amount of bracelets, bangles, and rings, they tell the world that you mean business.

Try: Essie’s Jiggle Hi Jiggle Lo, No Place Like Chrome, Penny Talk, or Blue Rhapsody

Matte Me Crazayy

Matte Nails

If you’re not willing to give up the broodier colors quite yet, matte shades are the perfect compromise. They have a knack for softening up the darkest polishes.

Try: OPI’s Alpine Snow, Orly’s Purple Velvet, or Zoya’s Loredana

Oh, Dude! Go Nude!

PicMonkey Collage

When unsure, nude is definitely the way to go. Now that the weather is “warming up,” nude colors are a great way to draw attention to your tan (current or eventual).

Try: Chanel’s 625 Secret, Jin Soon’s Nostalgia, China Glaze’s Inner Beauty, or Butter London’s Tea With The Queen

Why I Fast on Mondays

Monday: oh, the duality of it. I love Monday and I also hate it with a deep passion. I hate that it will take a full 5 days for the weekend/nachos to arrive. I hate that I have to answer my emails. I hate that my alarm goes off and wakes me from my Sunday slumber. Yet, once I’m conscious I remember that I love waking up early on a summer Monday, hitting the streets before 8am when the city is still sleepy and heading out for a slow sweat at SLT. I love hitting the re-set button and having another chance to do and be. I also love fasting on Mondays, my chosen day of the week to detox until dinnertime (if you’re forced to begin your week, you may as well dive in head first).
