Easy Spring Style

[infobox subtitle=”All Over!” bg=”green” color=”white” opacity=”off” space=”30″ link=”no link”]Spring Has Sprung[/infobox] The temp has been hovering around 55 degrees, the sun has actually been shining, and sidewalk cafes are full of life again here in New York Citayyy and I’m lovin’ it.  I’ve managed to bare my legs a few times over the past week or so – a very exciting feat considering the winter we had.  My calves may be stark white but they want to be free!

Today’s look combines a few stylish elements: first the mixing of textures with this faux leather pencil skirt, silk button down, and my favorite pink Helmut Lang sweater.

I’m seriously in love with this sweater.  Pink started cropping up everywhere a few months ago and it’s thrilling for me personally because it’s my favorite color.  Not much is better than a dusty pink, amirite?  I also started tying up all my button-downs around the mid-section lately.  Easiest way to turn a not-crop into a crop.  Woo!

Time to move downstairs on the body to these blue booties.  They’re an oldie but a goodie – I may never throw them out.  An absolute score from Zara a few years ago, these leather booties go with everything.  Blue, black, and pink is a mighty fine combination on an early spring day.

Throw my everyday bag from Celine (it fits literally everything) and I’m ready to take on the city.  See my favorite pieces at the bottom of the post to re-create this easy spring look.  Cheers!

  1. I love the chunky sweater. I saw one a few months ago in a local store, off white color I think. I saw the many styling possibilities in my head. And for some strange reason I left it.
    You styled yours well. 🙂

Why I Fast on Mondays

Monday: oh, the duality of it. I love Monday and I also hate it with a deep passion. I hate that it will take a full 5 days for the weekend/nachos to arrive. I hate that I have to answer my emails. I hate that my alarm goes off and wakes me from my Sunday slumber. Yet, once I’m conscious I remember that I love waking up early on a summer Monday, hitting the streets before 8am when the city is still sleepy and heading out for a slow sweat at SLT. I love hitting the re-set button and having another chance to do and be. I also love fasting on Mondays, my chosen day of the week to detox until dinnertime (if you’re forced to begin your week, you may as well dive in head first).
