Metal Cap-Toe Shoes

[infobox subtitle=”Metal Cap-Toe Shoes” bg=”black” color=”white” opacity=”off” space=”30″ link=”no link”]All About That Shine[/infobox] The word “trendy” often gets a bad rap. Sure, we don’t love every trend that designers send down the runway (Socks with sandals? We’re big fans Prada, but no, thank you), but we’re happy to experiment with trends to give our outfits an extra edge. (Faux) Fur Details? Leopard prints? 70’s silhouettes? Bring them on.

Our latest obsession? Metal cap-toe shoes. Here at TheLoDown, we’re always on the lookout for new ways to add a special twist to our outfits because as much as we love clothes, planning outfits can get a bit tedious. You can imagine how excited we were when we discovered that metal cap-toe shoes aren’t just a passing fad (they’ve withstood several seasons!). It’s such a simple detail, but that detail makes a huge difference. When you’re constantly drawn to monochrome or neutral outfits like us, metal cap-toe shoes add that extra oomph that will definitely set you apart from the pack. So, if you’re totally lovin’ metal-cap toe shoes, put your best (and shiniest) foot forward with our favorite picks from around the web:

Why I Fast on Mondays

Monday: oh, the duality of it. I love Monday and I also hate it with a deep passion. I hate that it will take a full 5 days for the weekend/nachos to arrive. I hate that I have to answer my emails. I hate that my alarm goes off and wakes me from my Sunday slumber. Yet, once I’m conscious I remember that I love waking up early on a summer Monday, hitting the streets before 8am when the city is still sleepy and heading out for a slow sweat at SLT. I love hitting the re-set button and having another chance to do and be. I also love fasting on Mondays, my chosen day of the week to detox until dinnertime (if you’re forced to begin your week, you may as well dive in head first).
