Lip Plumping

[infobox subtitle=”Without the #KylieJennerChallenge” bg=”orange” color=”white” opacity=”on” space=”30″ link=”no link”]Plump Your Lips[/infobox] A lot has been said recently about Kylie Jenner’s lips — a national debate (maybe even international?) has questioned whether or not her lips came as a result of lip injections or great make-up skills. Her lips even inspired the #KylieJennerChallenge, which had teens sucking on glasses to imitate the star’s pout. In the most recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the young startlet admitted that she did receive injections to enhance her lips, answering once and for all everyone’s burning question and putting an end to the dangerous DIY challenge that can lead to disfigured lips.

In light of the whole situation, we just have one thing to say to Kylie and to everyone else: you gotta do you. Here at TheLoDown, we’re all about feeling your best and doing what you can to make yourself feel confident. After all, who are we to judge?

Of course… we do have some recommendations for DIY lip plumping, and they don’t involve sucking on glass (can I get a hallelujah?). For those of you who were tempted to try the #KylieJennerChallenge, consider using a lip plumping gloss instead. With options including O-Plump’s Intuitive Lip Plumper, the Vapour Organiz Beauty Elixir Plumping Lip Gloss and a Lip Plumping Shimmer Gloss from the Kardashians themselves, you’re bound to get a perfect pout à la Kylie Jenner. 💋💋💋💋

Why I Fast on Mondays

Monday: oh, the duality of it. I love Monday and I also hate it with a deep passion. I hate that it will take a full 5 days for the weekend/nachos to arrive. I hate that I have to answer my emails. I hate that my alarm goes off and wakes me from my Sunday slumber. Yet, once I’m conscious I remember that I love waking up early on a summer Monday, hitting the streets before 8am when the city is still sleepy and heading out for a slow sweat at SLT. I love hitting the re-set button and having another chance to do and be. I also love fasting on Mondays, my chosen day of the week to detox until dinnertime (if you’re forced to begin your week, you may as well dive in head first).
