And although we may shudder at the thought of not having a Sephora or Ulta within a ten-mile radius, sometimes the best things can be found in the most unexpected places. In our new Store Raid Series, we venture away from big department stores to find the best of beauty throughout the city. With hidden beauty gems like these, maybe we’ll think about skipping Sephora after all…

Known predominantly for their Grumpy Cat plush toys and bohemian and retro-inspired fashion, Urban Outfitters’ appeal extends far beyond its sartorial charm. And while it may be easy to beeline straight for the fringe-lined tops and high-wasted denim shorts, we couldn’t help but notice that one section in particular has gone slightly overlooked every time someone steps foot into an UO store. The beauty section at Urban Outfitters, with everything from fragrances to face masks, has everything you would ever need from a cosmetics store.

From moisturizers to eye shadow palettes, we scouted UO’s beauty section for some of our favorite skin care and makeup products. Made with natural ingredients, brands from Tonymoly to Herbivore are designed with healthy skin in mind. Even better, many of the products are made exclusive to Urban Outfitters so be sure to snag some at your local UO store before they’re all gone.

  1. Love this website (esp the fashion and food) but honestly this article sounds more like an ad than a beuty raid. Try this, buy this! But…. what’s it like???? Why should I? Idk. I always come to Lo for advice on stuff she’s tried– not for ads. Kinda disappointed.

Why I Fast on Mondays

Monday: oh, the duality of it. I love Monday and I also hate it with a deep passion. I hate that it will take a full 5 days for the weekend/nachos to arrive. I hate that I have to answer my emails. I hate that my alarm goes off and wakes me from my Sunday slumber. Yet, once I’m conscious I remember that I love waking up early on a summer Monday, hitting the streets before 8am when the city is still sleepy and heading out for a slow sweat at SLT. I love hitting the re-set button and having another chance to do and be. I also love fasting on Mondays, my chosen day of the week to detox until dinnertime (if you’re forced to begin your week, you may as well dive in head first).
