Smart is Sexy.

It’s always been a priority of mine to be knowledgable in fashion, mainly because I like to know what I’m talking about. With the fashion and blogging industry as saturated as it already is, especially with the influx of people whose claims to fame are based off nothing more than on an interest in pretty things, I think it’s important to appreciate the looks designers send down the runway by knowing first and foremost where they came from. For many of my favorite designers, their inspiration comes from different moments in history. Houses like Dior and Balenciaga, for example, have been around since 1946 and 1916 respectively. Their clothes tell so many incredible stories that are downright inspiring!

Okay, rant over. If you need a book to read this break and you love fashion, pick one of these to educate yourself!

Why I Fast on Mondays

Monday: oh, the duality of it. I love Monday and I also hate it with a deep passion. I hate that it will take a full 5 days for the weekend/nachos to arrive. I hate that I have to answer my emails. I hate that my alarm goes off and wakes me from my Sunday slumber. Yet, once I’m conscious I remember that I love waking up early on a summer Monday, hitting the streets before 8am when the city is still sleepy and heading out for a slow sweat at SLT. I love hitting the re-set button and having another chance to do and be. I also love fasting on Mondays, my chosen day of the week to detox until dinnertime (if you’re forced to begin your week, you may as well dive in head first).
