[title subtitle=”Seriously though, what’s the hype?”]What’s the Deal[/title]
Cleansing water has been a recent addition to my skincare routine. Because I’m all for products that clean my face both thoroughly and efficiently, especially when I’m exhausted and dying to go to bed, this product has been godsend.
The best part? There’s no rinsing required when using it! You simply poor some of the water onto a cotton pad, swish and swipe it around your face, and you’re pretty much good to go! The cleansing or micellar water loosens up dirt, grime, and makeup, all while cleansing and hydrating your skin.
Um, but wait, what is it?
Cleansing water is neither a toner nor a traditional face wash. The solution is chalk full of microscopic micelles (tiny molecular balls that eat up dirt and oils) that serve as the water’s cleansing property.
While I prefer it to makeup wipes, I find that that cleansing water is best used after washing my face. It serves a two-in-one toner that also acts as a last precaution to make sure I’ve removed all of my day’s makeup.

Simple Micellar Cleansing Water
If you’re looking for a drugstore option, start with the Simple one! See what I did there? This one is gentle, contains vitamins, and does not leave a residue. I recommend this for anyone who wants to test it out because it’s easily-accessible (bought mine at CVS) and affordable!
Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water
I discovered the Caudalie cleansing water when I received it as a deluxe sample from Sephora. It smells super nice and fresh with its fruity and refreshing ingredients like grape water, watermelon, mint leaves, etc. I especially love this cleansing water because it gets rid of all my makeup well… even the hefty mascara!
Let me know if you have a favorite cleansing water! These are my tried-and-trues and I would love to check out more.

Need to try this!! I’ve heard about Micellar water in the past but I’m all about the 101 cheat sheet! Great reminder that I need to go out and purchase it. Xox

Love the micellar waters that are getting all the attention now! I’m currently using the Garnier one however, I have also used the one from Bioderma. Both have been awesome and use them to take makeup off at night and also for toning in the am after I wash my face. May have to try the Caudalie one next.
I just recently bought the Simple Cleansing Water and am already obsessed. I love products like this because you can see when your skin is clean just by looking at what the cotton pad is taking off. And the fact that you don’t have to rinse your face after saves me some time. For sensitive skin like mine, this product is a must!
