Incorporating Turmeric Into Your Diet

As an avid lover of Indian food, I’m a huge fan of Nutrient Stripped’s recipe for Spicy Coconut Curry with Sweet Jasmine Rice. When I don’t have time to make an elaborate meal, I sprinkle turmeric in my scrambled eggs, roasted vegetables, rice, and soup!

Aside from the incredible curry, Nutrient Stripped’s Tumeric Golden Milk is also a must try! I usually add ground cloves and a touch of nutmeg, but you do you and experiment away. In the midst of midterms, this drink has really helped me wind down at the end of my day. It doesn’t hurt that it’s extremely delicious. The velvety texture of the coconut milk and the combination of spices is to die for. As a kid, I used to hate when my mom made me drink warm milk before going to bed, but this is now the best part of my day.

So, take your makeup off, throw on your sweats, continue binge watching your favorite Netflix show (I just re-watched all nine seasons of One Tree Hill), and let’s get started!

  1. My roommate just made a homemade tumeric latte last night! I had no idea it was so easy Love these because it cures my evening caffeine craving, letting me drink a latte minus the caffeine 🙂

    1. More people need to know about it! I think it’s such a nice alternative to drinks like chai lattes that have way too much sugar!

Why I Fast on Mondays

Monday: oh, the duality of it. I love Monday and I also hate it with a deep passion. I hate that it will take a full 5 days for the weekend/nachos to arrive. I hate that I have to answer my emails. I hate that my alarm goes off and wakes me from my Sunday slumber. Yet, once I’m conscious I remember that I love waking up early on a summer Monday, hitting the streets before 8am when the city is still sleepy and heading out for a slow sweat at SLT. I love hitting the re-set button and having another chance to do and be. I also love fasting on Mondays, my chosen day of the week to detox until dinnertime (if you’re forced to begin your week, you may as well dive in head first).
