Hello my soon to be snow bunnies! (literally supposed to start snowing in NY this week and I’m not ready to give up the fall yet!)
If I’m being completely honest I’m not a huge fan of the cold weather but I do love the idea of cozying up on the couch with a huge blanket, some fuzzy socks, the fireplace going and a warm beverage! Typically a hot chocolate would go perfect in that equation but I feel like a matcha would be a great substitute for a relaxing snow day vibe.
There is no shortage of cute places to go to in the city to get my matcha fix (Cha Cha Matcha is one of my favs!) but the thought of putting on a bunch of layers just to satisfy my craving is exhausting so I figure I better learn to do it myself and who better to teach me than “The Golden Girl of Wellness” herself, Candice Kumai!
Instead of going the matcha latte route which is usually more sugary, I had Candice come over to show me how to make traditional matcha and the best part is it only took 30 seconds and it’s more beneficial because you’re getting the most vitamin C and antioxidants out of it!
I love it so matcha (sorry couldn’t resist) and you should to! Not only is it yummy but there are tons of health benefits such as: boosts metabolism, burns calories, packed with antioxidants, calms the mind, relaxes the body, enhances mood and it helps with concentration!
Follow the quick and easy recipe by the radiant Candice Kumai and get ready to snuggle up and chillax!
- Measure 1-2 teaspoons Japanese matcha powder.
- Using a chasen whisk (bamboo whisk), sift your powder, gently.
- Add hot water that’s been slightly cooled, not boiling, about 185 degrees F.
- Whisk like crazy, until tiny, cute bubbles form.
- Enjoy + chill the f out
