The weather in NYC has become disrespectful to say the least, I about cried when I read “Feels like -3” on my weather app this past weekend!

With the colder weather comes the sniffles and with the sniffles comes the body aches and with the body aches comes full blown congested, can’t get out of bed, I want my mommy sickness! BUT to prevent you from getting to that SOS state it’s best to kick your symptom’s ass before they turn into an actual cold! One of the best ways to do this is by taking immunity shots and don’t worry, no needles involved here!

I am a huge fan of throwing back ginger shots, wheatgrass shots, E3 live shots, pretty much anything I can drink that will help give my immune system a boost!

Now it’s no secret these shots can become quite pricey especially if you’re buying them every morning so I decided to make my own little Immune Boosting concoction that way I can save money and don’t have to leave the comfort of my own home whenever I’m feeling a little off and just need to be in my pjs all day!

The best part about my little recipe is that you more than likely already have these ingredients in your kitchen!

Yields1 Serving

1 Lemon, juiced (load up on Vitamin C!)
1 Probiotic capsule (Good Girl Probiotic from Love Wellness is a great choice ;)- this helps to stimulate immune system as well as reduce the severity and duration of the cold
 ½ tbsp Turmeric (anti-inflammatory)
1 dash of cayenne pepper (anti-viral, adds a nice kick!)
 1 dash of cinnamon (anti-inflammatory)
1 inch of ginger peeled & crushed (kills bacteria)
1 tsp of manuka honey (anti-microbial, fights infection)

1

You have the option to combine the ingredients in some filtered water or just shot it!

If you’re starting to feel that itchy throat or runny nose come along, I suggest taking a shot once in the morning and once in the evening! Even if you’re not sick or feel like you’re getting sick, this Immunity Shot is great for your overall health and it’s a great way to kick start your day! Cheers!
